The second edition of the Panchkula Lit Fest, ‘Get Booked!’ takes off today, in which over 40 personalities from the world of literature will take part. The two-day fest is being held at Satluj Public School, Sector 4, Panchkula.
Rumour Books India in collaboration with Satluj Public School, is organising the fest, while Young Indians (Yi) and Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) are supporting and outreach partners.
Reekrit Serai, managing director and co-founder, Rumour Books India, and founder of the festival said, “PLF promises to put the Tricity on the literary map of the country by getting a plethora of thinkers and writers together on one platform.”
The highlight of the festival will be engaging activities with active participation of school children from across the Tricity,” added Serai.
Each day will see engaging panel discussions, book launches, screenings of award-winning films and conversations with eminent authors, publishers and literary agents.
Besides, there will be interactive sessions with renowned authors for the audience. Locals will get a chance to meet and interact with authors such as Christopher C Doyle, Anurag Anand, Saad Bin Jung, Ramesh Menon, to name a few.
The highlight of the inaugural day will be the launch of Saad Bin Jung’s latest book ‘Matabele Dawn’ and screening of the award-winning short film ‘Newborns’, directed by Megha Ramaswamy.
The day will begin with a session on ‘Movies and literature: The most beautiful fraud in the world’ with Ketan Bhagat, Fahad Samar and Megha Ramaswamy.
Radhika Panickar, founder of Rumour Books India and co-founder of the festival says, “This year participants from over 100 of the top schools across the northern region are expected to be a part of the fest.”
The festival will be inaugurated by Panchkula deputy commissioner Vivek Atray, while other important personalities like CBSE regional director RJ Khanderao, Padma Shri Sardar Anjum and singer and author Dolly Guleria will also be present.
