Republic of Ghana President John Dramani Mahama has invited Punjab deputy chief minister Sukhbir Singh Badal to visit Ghana, along with a delegation, to initiate joint ventures in areas, including manufacturing, farming, agro-processing, jewellery-making, hydropower projects and education, a spokesman said here on Wednesday. John has extended his invitation to the state leadership through a letter that envisioned strong ties between Punjab and Ghana.

Recalling the deliberations held by a Ghana delegation in Chandigarh in August this year, the Ghana President also rolled out a proposal for a progressive Punjabi farmers’ meet in Ghana. He also assured that they would allocate fertile agri-land on lease to the farmers from Punjab.

The Ghana President urged the deputy chief minister to send confirmation of the visit as early as possible as Ghana was also interested in taking the help of Punjab in the power sector as well.
