The exam scores of Pinky Chauhan, the student who had set herself on fire due to poor marking, have now been updated on the university’s website.

Chauhan, a second year BSc student of the Girls Government College, Sector 14 had set herself on fire, following a massive student protest against Maharshi Dayanand University (MDU) on Monday morning. The Girls Government College in Sector 14 is affiliated to MDU, Rohtak.

According to the principal of the Sector 14 College, Gianender Singh, the internal assessment marks were sent out to the university but they did not receive these scores. As a result several students’ examination results showed result awaited or absent or were awarded a zero.

“After we resent the marks, the university updated these marks on their website. They should have informed the college about this issue. As far as Pinky is concerned, her internal assessment in Physics has been updated to 60,” added Singh.

The interesting point is that while the college authorities say that her marks in Physics have been updated, Chauhan’s relatives maintained she had received zero in mathematics and now the marks have been updated to 60.

“Pinky’s mathematics score on MDU’s website has been updat ed from zero to 60. Some of her classmates have also received increased marks,” said Satpal Chauhan, Pinky’s uncle.

According to the medical superintendent of Safdarjung Hospital, Chauhan’s condition is still critical.

Meanwhile, 150 BCom students of Dronacharya Government Colle ge who were marked absent received their scores on Thursday.
