A technical snag in connectivity of the e-samparks resulted in the harassment of those who visited the centres across the city to get their work done on Monday. There are 15 e-sampark centres and 10 e-sampark kiosks in different parts of the city at present, offering around 24 different services to citizens such as payment of bills — electricity, water, telephone — railway ticket booking, payment of property tax and Aadhar enrollment etc.
The work remained suspended throughout the day at most of the centres and a large number of people were seen waiting for resumption of work while standing in long queues.
The Society for Promotion of IT in Chandigarh (SPIC) is responsible for running the e-smaprak centres in the city. SPIC head Anil Prashar said that work at most of the centres remained suspended throughout the day due to connectivity issue. “We have lodged a complaint with the service provider, Himachal Futuristic Communications Ltd (HFCL), and connectivity will be up by Tuesday,” said Prashar.
