An avid bike rider since college, SAS Nagar-based entrepreneur, Gobind Brar, is jet set to ride his Harley Davidson Iron 883 all the way to Goa to join the National Harley Owners’ Group Rally.
According the 27-year-old, the innate camaraderie might just diminish after college, but being a part of Harley Owners Group (HOG) revives the reminiscent feeling one team spirit—especially when this feeling cost a whopping R6.6 lakh.
The rally, being organised in Goa on January 31 and February 1, is a part of the 110th anniversary celebrations of Harley Davidson (HD). Starting his journey from Chandigarh today, Gobind says, “I usually ride on weekends to places such as Kothgarh (HP) and Amritsar. But being a part of this national rally and doing this long a distance on the bike is a new high altogether.”
Out of the 500 HD owners who are expected to participate in the rally, Jalandhar-based Gurpreet Singh Sihota will start the journey from Jalandhar today too. “I bought an HD Superlow bike in August 2012. But I have been riding an HD for 27 years in the US and Canada. It’s an interesting rally and a good excuse to meet up with various HOG members. We leave for Chandigarh on January 26 morning, and for Delhi on the same evening; plan to reach Ahmedabad by 27, and finally Goa by January 31,” says the 50-year-old.
