The Golden Arrow division of the Army at Ferozepur celebrated the Army Day on Thursday by organising a number of activities.
It organised motivational talks at different schools to give students an insight into the activities being undertaken by the Army. The students were also shown the Golden Arrow archives which exposed them to the rich military history of the Army.
The division also organised drug de-addiction camps at some places. One such camp was organised at Mamdot primary health centre where renowned de-addiction therapists Dr Parmeshwar Singh and Dr Gagandeep Kaur from the drug de-addiction centre, Ferozepur, apprised the audience of the measures to reduce drug menace and its long-lasting impact on society in general and the youth in particular.
The division organised the Know Your Army melas to showcase the capability and achievements of the Army and motivate the youth to join the armed forces. The melas were conducted at several places in Ferozepur and Kapurthala districts to strengthen the bonding between the people of Punjab and the army.
In Western Command headquarters, Chandimandir, the day was celebrated with zeal. The Western Command authorities hosted a tea party and had an informal interaction with mediapersons.
