Gunjan Sharma, a student of Post Graduate Government College for Girls, Sector 42 (GCG-42), topped the BSc bio-technology (honours) third year examination, the results of which were declared on Monday.
Gunjan clinched first position with 2523 marks out of 3000, while Bhavya Malhotra and Monica Saini of Khalsa College for Women, Civil Lines, Ludhiana, and DAV College, Sector 10, Chandigarh, secured second and third positions with 2520 and 2450 marks, respectively.
Pawandeep Kaur of Guru Nanak Girls College, Model Town, Ludhiana, Mandeep Kaur of SGHRS College for Women, Chabbewal (Hoshiarpur), Stuti Kaushik and Prachi Vaid, both of SD College, Sector 32, Chandigarh, bagged fourth, fifth and sixth and seventh positions, respectively.
Puneet Kaur of Post Graduate Government College for Girls, Sector 42, Chandigarh, Simranjeet Kaur and Mani Arora, both of Khalsa College for Women, Civil Lines, Ludhiana, bagged eighth, ninth and tenth spots, respectively.
The results are available on PU website - puchd.ac.in. PU controller of examinations (CoE) Prof Parvinder Singh said 95% students had cleared the exam. Nearly 180 students had appeared for the exam of which 171 have been declared pass.
