Gurbaksh Singh Khalsa, who was released from jail on Monday, again sat on hunger strike at Gurdwara Amb Sahib at Phase 8 here.

Singh was on hunger strike at Gurdwara Amb Sahib since November 14, demanding the release of five Sikhs who have completed their jail sentences but have not been released.

On December 6, he was arrested and sent to the Ropar jail. After being released on Monday, he was taken to the PGIMER, Chandigarh, from where he was discharged on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, Ludhiana resident Damandeep Singh sat on hunger strike at Gurdwara Amb Sahib on December 6, the day Gurbaksh was arrested, for the same cause.

Addressing mediapersons, Khalsa alleged that he was not allowed to meet his lawyers and family when they visited him in the Ropar jail.

Khalsa said he would continue his hunger strike till the release of the Sikh prisoners who were languishing in various jails. Khalsa alleged that he was taken forcibly by the police on the night of December 6.

Meanwhile, Baba Ranjit Singh Dhadrianwale has announced his support saying he was with Damandeep Singh and decided to hold an open darbar at Gurdwara Amb Sahib on December 13.
