Gurgaon CJM accused of wife's murder transferred

The Punjab and Haryana high court on Thursday while issuing transfer orders of 160 judicial officers in Punjab and Haryana also transferred Gurgaon chief judicial magistrate, Ravneet Garg, to Jagadhri.


Garg was booked by the Gurgaon police on July 30, alongwith his parents on charges of dowry death of his wife Geetanjali. It was on July 17 that Geetanjali’s bullet-ridden dead body was found inside Gurgaon police lines area.

Ravneet would now take over at Jagadhri as whole time secretary of district legal services authority on deputation against the newly created post.

After a request from Geetanjali’s family members, Haryana government had on July 23, recommended for CBI investigation in the case. Now the case is being tried in special CBI court, Panchkula.
