Eighteen hostellers studying in Classes 11 and 12 of Motilal Nehru School of Sports at Rai in Sonepat have been expelled on Sunday for allegedly harassing their juniors.

The principal had already expelled three Class-12 students for an indefinite period on Friday.

Forty Class-9 students had left the hostel on Thursday after they got frustrated with the alleged indifferent attitude of their seniors.

As per details, they had jumped off the hostel wall around 9pm without registering their complaint with the authorities.

When the authorities got to know about the issue through some hostellers, they swung into action and informed police.

After a search operation was launched, the students were spotted sitting under a tree at Bahalgarh village, nearly 5 km from Rai, around 2am on Friday.

After offering them food at a nearby dhaba and lodging their complaint, the police took them back to the hostel.

Talking to the Hindustan Times, director-cum-principal VK Verma said: "We are looking into the reasons that had forced students to leave the school premises. So far, we have found that 21 students of Classes 11 and 12 were threatening them."

He said: "The expelled students have been sent back to their homes and if more people are found guilty, be it employees or students, strict action will be taken against them."
