Harbhajan Singh has been handed the reins of Punjab squad for the upcoming BCCI’s North Zone T20 Cricket Tournament for Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy to be played in PCA stadium, SAS Nagar, and Sector 16 Cricket Stadium, Chandigarh, from April 1 to 5.
PAC Secretary MP Pandove, Munish Sharma (Amritsar), Harjinder Singh (Jalandhar), Ashok Khanna (Chandigarh), Arun Sharma (SAS Nagar) and Pankaj Dharmani (Patiala) along with coach Bhupinder Singh Sr were present at the meeting held in PCA Stadium on Saturday.
Punjab,who were the runners up of the tournament last year, will kick start their league campaign with a match against Haryana at PCA Stadium on April 1. Punjab will then take on Himachal on April 2, DDCA on April 3, Services on April 4 and Jammu & Kashmir on April 5 at PCA Stadium. While the SAS Nagar stadium will host two matches every day, the Sector 16 cricket stadium will host one match daily.
Himachal and JKCA teams have already arrived in the city, while Delhi, Services and Haryana are expected to arrive by tomorrow afternoon.
Punjab, who made it to semifinals of both Ranji Trophy and Vijay Hazare before being ousted, are all geared up to end their dry run.
The team has already played few practice matches at the Sector 16 cricket stadium over the past few days.
