The Haryana lokayukta has recommended the registration of a criminal case against Congress MLA and chief parliamentary secretary Ram Kishan Fauji for allegedly seeking Rs 5 crore as bribe for getting a change of land use (CLU) permission issued.

Justice Pritam Pal (retd) gave the recommendation on the basis of a video clip that was released by the Indian National Lok Dal on September 6, 2011, in which a man, allegedly Fauji, can be seen asking for `5 crore for issuing a CLU permission for a piece of land in Gurgaon.

Justice Pritam Pal, who had heard Indian National Lok Dal state president Ashok Arora and Fauji on January 13 and January 17, had reserved his decision. On January 17, two persons, Dharmender Kuhar and Parveen Malik, had also submitted affidavits standing by the allegations.

Aside from the police case, justice Pal has also recommended that a senior police officer with impeccable integrity should be deputed to investigate the entire case expeditiously on all counts of allegations of corruption as allegedly narrated in the CD during the sting operation.
