Haryana government has given approval for creation of 19,902 posts of postgraduate school teachers, with requisition for filling up of 14,216 posts already been sent to state school teachers' selection board last week.
Also 5,548 posts of elementary schools headmasters have been sanctioned and would be filled within three months through promotions of masters.
The information was submitted before the Punjab and Haryana high court on Tuesday during the hearing of a bunch of petitions seeking filling up of a number of vacant posts in schools.
It was submitted that the process of filling postgraduate school teachers' posts would take a longer time.
After the assurance of the state government for taking positive steps at the earliest in the matter, a division bench headed by Chief Justice Ranjan Gogoi disposed of the bunch of petitions.
