Employment for youth and employability are the two chief aims of the Haryana government, said chief minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda addressing the IFC-Mint Most Competitive States 2012 award function in New Delhi.

Haryana got the award for being the most competitive state for its income distribution pattern and financial infrastructure.

Hooda thanked the IFC (Institute for Competitiveness) and Mint for recognising the efforts of his government.

Hooda said improving the quality of human resource was a top priority, and emphasis was being laid on bringing qualitative change in education and enhancing employment opportunities.

"Education will help in employability and industrialisation would augment employment opportunities," he said.

Efforts are being made to accelerate industrial growth through model townships and industrial estates.
