The Haryana roadways has a plan to launch city bus service in Rohtak and Hisar cities after the success of city bus service in Gurgaon, Faridabad and Panchkula.
Stating this here on Tuesday , state transport director general Arun Kumar said later on the city operations would also be expanded in other towns of the state.
He said city bus service, which was launched in May this year in Gurgaon and Faridabad, had been a huge success.
In Gurgaon, about 55 to 60 buses plied in two shifts from 6am to 10pm whereas in Faridabad, about 90 to 95 buses were running in two shifts, he added.
Even the receipt had been reasonably good and was comparable with inter district or inter-state operations.
In its city fleet in Gurgaon and Faridabad, Haryana roadways was using semi low floor, low floor and a specially designed ordinary bus meant for city operation, he said and added that the specially designed bus, which provided ample space for standing and better comfort, had also been introduced between Panchkula and Chandigarh.
At present 12 such standard buses were plying between Panchkula and Chandigarh and 10 more would soon be inducted.
