The two-day HT Auto and Realty Expo 2014 concluded with a heavy footfall here at Elante Mall on Sunday. The exhibitors had people visiting them even in biting cold, enquiring about the latest deals by auto dealers and to know housing options through realtors.

Those from the reality market shared about their projects with visitors, including the slump in the real estate market. Rajiv Gupta, vice president, north India, Emmar MGF Group, said, "There are enough end users in the market, but no investors. For real estate agents, who are delivering and giving possessions in time, there is no slump. It is only for non-performers."

Kanwaljit Singh Ahluwalia, chairman and managing director (CMD), RKM City, said, "There is no slump, and it is more of a hype that has been created about the real estate market. Those wanting to buy are in a fix that the prices will fall further that is resulting in slowdown in demand, which is being termed as slump in market."

Visitors could be seen making all kinds of queries from type of residential accommodation to pricing to location and other related things. Most of them were of the view that such expos helped a prospective customer to get his queries answered under the one roof.

Brands like Tata Motors, Maruti Suzuki, Renault, Hundai and TVS displayed their vehicles. Among real estate firms were Chandigarh City Centre, Emaar MGF, WWICS Real Estates, Escon Areana and others.
