The newly-introduced two toy trains between Kalka and Shimla railway track have been plying full owing to the heavy rush of tourists to the hill station.

These trains- 120-seater Delux Shivalik that starts at 6.30am and 200-seater Himalayn Queen- were introduced on Friday to ease the rush on the public transport due to Christmas and New Year.

People in large numbers have been thronging Shimla to enjoy the snowfall and to celebrate Christmas, which is the reason railways have introduced these trains.

"Many tourists are heading to Shimla to celebrate the New Year with their family and friends. We have already started six toy trains on the stretch, which will help to reduce the rush,"said Vijay Arora, Kalka station superintendent.

"We have also received large number of bookings in advance and people are also bookings tickets online,"he added.

The fare price in Shivalik train is Rs 405 per seat. However, in the other train, the price varies from Rs 50 for the second class to Rs 255 for the chair car.

Both the trains have the capacity to pull seven coaches and take 5 hours and 20 minutes to cover the distance of 96 km between Kalka and Shimla.
