Congress high command on Tuesday has caused major embarrassment to the newly appointed Punjab Pardesh Congress Committee (PPCC), president, Partap Singh Bajwa after it asked him to withdraw five party appointments he had made to the state Congress body.
Acting on the direction of the senior leadership of the Congress, Bajwa has not only withdrawn the appointments he had made yesterday but also appointed four new vice-presidents to the PPCC body.
On Monday Bajwa had appointed Fateh Jang Singh Bajwa, his younger brother, as general secretary, Sukhpal Singh Khaira as the chief spokesperson, Rajanbir Singh, Rajinder Deepa and Ashok Chaudhary as the secretaries of the PPCC.
The four new vice-presidents appointed by the AICC in consultation with Bajwa include, OP Soni, Gurpreet Singh Kangar, Tarlochan Singh Soondh and Charanjit Singh Channi.
Bajwa when contacted admitted that the five appointments he had made yesterday had to be withdrawn on the direction of the party high command.
