Hooda condoles freedom fighter's demise

Haryana chief minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda expressed deep sorrow and grief over the sad demise of freedom fighter Sardar Balkar Singh in Karnal on Tuesday. He was 92.

In a condolence message issued here, Hooda described him as a great patriot who took part in various movements during the freedom struggle of the country.

His last rites were performed with complete state honour. The pyre was lit by his son Harcharan Singh. A number of people including family, friends, relatives, prominent personalities and officers of the district administration were present on the occasion.
