After the drubbing faced by the Congress in the recent assembly polls, former chief minister and Garhi Sampla Kiloi MLA Bhupinder Singh Hooda is set to hold a thanksgiving meeting with the electorate on November 2 in Sonepat district.
In the recent assembly polls, Hooda won five out of the total six seats in Sonepat district - which the Congress party lost out in parliamentary polls.
A party spokesperson said that Congress legislators of Kharkhodda, Rai, Gannaur, Gohana and Baroda, who also won from the same assembly seats in 2009, will be present at the meeting.
Hooda is also scheduled to visit Jhajjar district on November 9. He may follow it up with a similar programme at Rohak town, where Congress' BB Batra lost against BJP's Munish Grover.
Kadian placates Hooda
After having blamed Hooda for Congress' debacle in the Lok Sabha and assembly polls, Beri legislator Dr Raghuvir Kadian on Monday said media published his statement out of context. Claiming that he was committed to the party leadership, he vowed to re-establish Rohtak's supremacy. The four-time legislator said a workers' meeting was scheduled in his constituency and Hooda had specially been invited to address supporters.
