Pakistani prisoner Sanaullah Haq on Wednesday suffered a kidney failure, said officials of the PGIMER, Chandigarh. According to PGIMER his condition is "far worse than Tuesday night".

Sanaullah, 52, a convicted terrorist serving a life sentence in Jammu's Kot Bhalwal jail, is undergoing treatment at the Chandigarh hospital, where he was shifted after being hit with a brick by a fellow inmate on Friday.

The attack followed a similar assault in a Pakistan jail, which led to the death of Indian prisoner Sarabjit Singh.

"Neurologically he continues to be in deep coma," said the bulletin issued by the hospital on Wednesday evening.

"The patient has become extremely critical. He has developed renal failure with no urine output since morning. Hence, he was put on peritoneal dialysis by Nephrologists," it added.

Sanaullah has also developed hypothermia (low temperature). According to the hospital, his blood pressure is maintained on the highest dose of medicine.
