HP Board Class-10 results declared, girls outshine boys yet again

Girls once again outclassed boys in the Class 10 examination results declared by the Himachal Pradesh Board of School Education on Monday, with 65.26% students having cleared the exams held last March.

Girls once again outclassed boys in the Class 10 examination results declared by the Himachal Pradesh Board of School Education on Monday, with 65.26% students having cleared the exams held last March. Of the total 133,892 students who appeared 86,304 passed while 18,120 got a compartment, according to the board’s secretary, Vinay Dhiman.

Girl students scored over the male counterparts by bagging the top two positions. Of the total 14 students who made it to the merit list eight are girls. Urvashi of S Vidya Mandi Senior Secondary School in Ghumarwin, Bilaspur district, secured the top slot by scoring 99.14% while Palak Sharma (98.57%) from the same school ranked second and Amol Sharma of King George Royal Public School, Ner Chowk, Mandi (98.29%) stood third.

Swati Rana of Little Flower Public School, Durana, Kangra scored 98% to bag the fourth position followed by Arundhati of New Era School of Sciences, Shahpur (97.86%) and Divya (97.71%) from Senior Secondary Model Institute of Education, Devdhar Tihra, Mandi, at the fifth and sixth slots, respectively.

Sahil Dhiman of Greatway Public School, Sujjal, Kangra secured the seventh slot by scoring 97.57% while Tamanna Sharma of Career Academy School, Nahan and Vinay Thakur from Snower Valley Public School, Bajaura, Kullu both scoring 97.43%, jointly bagged the eighth position.

Tanu Sharma of Bumbloo Public School Hamirpur, Aman Garg of SD School, Santokhgarh, Priya Mahajan of Himachal Public School, Jhanduta, Bilaspur and Prashant Sharma of Snower Valley Public School, Bajaura, Kullu shared the ninth position by scoring 97.29%, while Manish Rana (97.14%) of New Era School of Sciences Shahpur, Kangra stood tenth in the rankings.

No student from government run schools was able to make it to the merit list.
