HP governor honours 24 gallant officers of police, home guards

Himachal Pradesh governor Urmila Singh honoured 24 gallant officers and the personnel of the state police and the home guards for their devotion towards duty, at an impressive investiture ceremony organised at the Raj Bhawan here on Tuesday.

The governor, in the presence of chief minister Virbhadra Singh, honoured Prithvi Raj, Hardesh Bisht and Shiv Ram Sharma with the President's Police Medals (PPM) for Distinguished Services.

Abhishekh Trivedi, BM Sharma, Kuldeep Sharma, Madan Lal, Paras Ram, Rakesh Pathania, Bhuvnesh Kumar and Tek Chand were honoured with President's Police Medals for Meritorious Services.
Urmila Singh also presented Home Guard and Civil Defence Medals for Distinguished Services to Hari Sukh Saukta and Gian Negi.

She also presented the Home Guard and Civil Medals for Meritorious Services to Deepa Ram Pundir, Vijay Singh, Ramesh Chand, Mohinder Seth, Ishwar Dass, Deva Kumari, Kumari Sunita Devi, Kalam Singh, Mangat Ram, Manorama Sharma and Ramesh Sharma.

On the occasion, chief parliamentary secretary Nand Lal, MLAs Ajay Mahajan and Sanjay Rattan, Planning Board vice-chairman, Gangu Ram Musafir, HP State Women Commission chairperson Janeb Chandel, state chief secretary P Mitra, DGP Sanjay Kumar and ADGP SR Mardi were also present.
