The Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association (HPCA) has declared the result of its month-long quiz competition, which was based on history of cricket in the state.
HPCA press secretary Mohit Sood said Sukant Sharma and Tanjuj Kashav had been declared winners of the contest, which was aimed at promoting the upcoming India-West Indies match slated for October 17.
“The winners will get a chance to act as ball boys during the upcoming match between India and West Indies,” Sood said.
He added that the month-long contest received an overwhelming response from the cricket fans across the state. The quiz contest, which started on September 3 and included a series of questions, tested the young fans' knowledge about Himachal cricket.
“This contest was an endeavour to reach out to the cricket fans spread across the state and give them the opportunity to witness and observe the excitement of an international-level match,” said Sood, adding that the response had been fantastic and it was amazing to see the commitment of the young generation towards the game.”
He said the selected participants would have to report at the HPCA office here on October 15 for a briefing and a training session.
