The Haryana Congress leadership would meet in Panchkula on Tuesday to decide the future course of action on urban civic body polls in the state.
Jai Prakash, former Congress MP and district unit head, Hisar, said the party workers were ready for polls if the party decided to fight the elections on party symbol.
Interestingly, chief minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda had already made it clear that the party would not fight the urban body polls on party symbol. The polls for seven municipal corporations in the state are scheduled for June 2.
"Whether the party has to field its candidates or it would ask workers to support a particular candidate, it would be deliberated upon in the meeting on Tuesday called by state party chief Phool Chand Mullana," he told mediapersons on Saturday.
Congress insiders said that it was very unlikely that party would take a detour on its earlier stand on fighting the elections without symbols.
