Despite facing tough competition from its counterparts in the town, Yadavindra Public School (YPS) has managed to retain the top spot by scoring 765 out of 1,000 points in the HT—C-fore survey that assesses schools on 14 parameters.

YPS deputy headmistress Anita Kashyap believes that the most significant reason for the school’s success is its ability to produce winners year after year: “The teachers do not act as trainers but as facilitators. We believe that the holistic development of a child is important.”

The school, as per the survey, excels in teacher care and development, competence of teachers, sports, extra-curricular activities, individual attention to students, infrastructure and facilities, value system integration, value for money, and social accountability.

YPS head girl Beeban Rai says: “The school is my second home. It has given me so much that once I reach home, I feel like going back to school again. I have evolved as an individual here. The school has taught me that caring, sharing and being socially responsible is important.”

Manav Mangal Smart School, which was ranked fourth last year, has clinched the second spot with 732 points this year. The school has topped innovative teaching in the survey. School director Sanjay Sardana says the school aims to provide quality education to students. “Our endeavour is make quality facilities and latest technologies accessible to students. We want them to learn using the latest and innovative technologies.”

The third spot has gone to Vivek High School, which has made an impressive debut by scoring 726 points.

According to the survey, the school surpasses others in life skills education, and parental participation. School chairman HS Mamik says: “In our school, the focus is not only on academics but also on the overall growth and development of a student. We ensure that our students become good human beings and are considered valuable to the society. We also encourage parents to participate in our activities so that they understand our vision and help us in shaping the lives of children.”
