HT resident editor bereaved

Kanchan Bahl (70), mother-in-law of Hindustan Times Resident Editor Ramesh Vinayak, breathed her last late on Wednesday night. She had been admitted to a SAS Nagar private hospital last week after suffering a heart attack. She is survived by her husband, KN Bahl, and two daughters.

Kanchan Bahl (70), mother-in-law of Hindustan Times Resident Editor Ramesh Vinayak, breathed her last late on Wednesday night. She had been admitted to a SAS Nagar private hospital last week after suffering a heart attack. She is survived by her husband, KN Bahl, and two daughters.


Hindustan Times employees expressed profound grief over the demise.

Punjab chief minister Parkash Singh Badal, deputy chief minister Sukhbir Singh Badal and information and public relations minister Bikram Singh Majithia condoled the death and expressed sympathies with the bereaved family.

Haryana chief minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda conveyed his condolences to the family and prayed for the peace of the departed soul. MS Chopra, principal officer on special duty to Haryana CM, laid a wreath on the chief minister's behalf during the cremation on Thursday.

According to family members, 'rasam kirya' would be held on July 28 from 2pm to 3pm at Shiv temple, Sector 39, Chandigarh.
