The candidates who have cleared Haryana Teacher Eligibility Test exam and are aspiring to become teachers soon, today threatened to commit mass immolation at Rohtak on May 1.

Stating this in a statement here, Haryana Patra Adhyapak Sangh Women Wing President Archana Suhasini said the eligible teachers were opposing the Haryana government's decision to allow those with four years of teaching experience to be appointed as teachers without passing the eligibility test(HTET).

She questioned, "Why the government undertook the eligibility test if it had to recruit the teachers directly. The judiciary has vindicated our stand."

She alleged, "The chief minister did not raise the issue of guest teachers in the meeting of the cabinet but got their signatures individually fearing opposition to his move."

She said all eligible teachers have been directed by the union to reach Rohtak on May One.
