With sudden suspension of domestic LPG supply by Manimajra Gas Agency in Manimajra, at least 800 consumers have been affected.

Though an arrangement has been made and supply to these customers has been distributed among four dealers in the city, yet many customers are complaining of delay in delivery.

Those within the business and even the senior officials from Indane Gas Company are tight-lipped over the development.

However, Indane Gas Company informed that the operations were suspended due to some internal issues and it was not known, as to when they would be resumed.

It was on August 9 that the four dealers - Bhatia Gas Agency, Shivalik Gas Agency, Bindlish Gas Agency and Farid Gas Agency - were asked to take care of Manimajra Gas Agency's customers, who were never informed if the agency's operations have been shut or suspended.

Speaking to HT, Rupali Aggarwal, a resident of Modern Housing Complex, Manimajra, said, "Normally, we get delivery of cylinder within 15 days from booking, but this time due to Manimajra Gas Agency not supplying LPG, we had to visit several dealers to get gas. It remains unclear if the agency has been shut down forever."

Meanwhile, dealers say that they are already burdened with customers and the addition of more customers has further added to it.

Shailender, manager at Bindlish Gas Agency, said, "We are trying our best to cope with the demand.

Each dealer has about 200 deliveries to make on a daily basis, sometimes even more. As far as Manimajra Gas Agency customers are concerned, we daily pass the booking slips to three other dealers to cover all bookings. There may be lapses as it has been just a week since we took up the operations. But things will get streamlined soon."
