‘I’m not in the rat race’

She is considered one of the top actors in the film industry, but Deepika Padukone doesn’t consider herself part of the number game. “I don’t believe in the number race. I focus on my work and believe in competing with myself. I think what you achieve in your life is the result of your own talent and hard work,” says the actor.

I think what you achieve in your life is the result of your own talent and hard work,” says the actor who was in the Capital to promote her film Race 2, that releases today.

The 27-year-old further says that she does not even consider herself a star. “I don’t think I am a star, I consider myself to be any other girl who is of my age who is working. I have completely enjoyed the five-year journey. Every film has taught me and so has every co-star I have worked with,” she says.

The actor, who is working on Chennai Express with Shah Rukh Khan, and Yeh Jawani Hai Deewani with Ranbir Kapoor, says there’s no time for love.

About her growing friendship with Ram Leela co-star Ranveer Singh, she says, “There is nothing to say. All I can say is that I am not at all in the frame of mind to be in a relationship. I have no time.”
