Unlike other Bollywood actors who contest in various elections, win and thereafter forget about their constituencies, Kirron Kher -- the BJP candidate from Chandigarh -- will stay back in City Beautiful if she is elected from the parliamentary seat. This was shared by her husband Anupam Kher, who is in the city to stage a play on his life ‘Kuch Bhi Ho Sakta Hai’.
“Even before my wife was informed about her BJP candidature on March 16; Chandigarh was always on her mind. From the last many years, she has been telling me that Chandigarh is calling her and wish to stay there. It is already decided between us that she will stay back in Chandigarh if she wins,” said Anupam.
On being asked about his reaction on Kirron joining politics, he said that they weren't typical ‘husband or wife’ who would criticize each other’s decisions. “I had no issues when she told me that she will contest elections. In fact, I happily said that I will support her from the core of my heart. Surely, she will win and will put her best foot forward to bring development in her region”, the actor said.
“Public should also know that cinema is not everything for her and so after her victory, she will not have issues in giving backseat to her acting career,” Kher added.
The play that will be staged on Saturday evening, will be the first time in Punjab and Ludhiana stands out to be first city to witness it. The autobiographical play on his failures in life is packed with many lessons and aims to galvanise its audience in being optimistic in life.
Kher says, “I never expected that play on my failures in life would turn out to be a success. After all those who don’t make mistakes, don’t make anything.”
