Independence Day celebrated with fervour

Rotary Club of Chandigarh along with its sponsored Rotaract Clubs celebrated Independence Day at the Rotary House.

The members of various Rotary clubs presented cultural items, including patriotic songs. Students of DAV College presented a street play on “Chhed Chhaad Kyun?” focusing on eve-teasing. A Hindi rock group of the city, The Dream Band, also entertained the visitors. The Rotary members also lit candles at the Rotary Peace Monument at Sukhna Lake.

Earlier, rotarians also celebrated Independence Day with the children and staff of Rotary Balwadi in Dhanas village.

Meanwhile, Controller of Communication, department of telecommunication, celebrated the 68th Independence Day in their office at Sector 27 here. Sharon Gupta, Controller of Communication Accounts, unfurled the National Flag and paid tribute to freedom fighters.

A cultural programme was also organised on the occasion. Staff member and their families recited patriotic songs and presented skits representing freedom struggle. Sweets and gifts were also distributed among all present on the occasion.

PCDA celebrates I-Day

The 68th Independence Day celebrations were organised at Principal Controller of Defence Accounts (PCDA) (Western Command), Sector 9, with full enthusiasm and fervour. Shivalli M Chouhan, additional controller, unfurled the National Flag on the occasion in the presence of officers, staff and their family members including children.
