Union minister of state for external affairs Preneet Kaur on Monday denied that India had softened its stand against the US on the Devyani Khobragade issue.

Talking to reporters on the sidelines of a function at Panjab University, Preneet said talks were underway with the US authorities and a solution to the issue would be found soon.

To a question whether India had softened its stand, she said, "We are concerned about Devyani Khobragade (Indian diplomat). All support is being provided to her."

To a question on Chinese incursions in the Ladakh region last week, Preneet said India and China had a strong mechanism in place to deal with such issues. "Special representatives of India and China are discussing the issue (incursions) and will try to resolve the matter quickly," she said, adding that India and China had a long border and the issue was very complex.
