Trade between India and Pakistan resumed on Wednesday after traders on both sides called off their strikes against the interference of the custom departments of the two nations.

Confederation of International Chamber of Commerce founding member Rajdeep Uppal said,"the standoff has been called off after a majority of the issues were resolved, adding that the traders had been assured that the Central Warehousing Corporation (CWC) would make temporary arrangements for the storage of goods at the Integrated Check Post (ICP)."

Amritsar's custom commissioner Sunil Shawny said that the strike was affecting international trade, which is why he took the initiative to resume trade.

He also said that there had been some issues with the CWC and the Border Security Force (BSF), which had now been sorted out.
