With the completion of cross examination of deputy superintendent of police (DSP) Virender Sangwan, one of the investigating officers (IO) in the Jyoti murder case, all prosecution witnesses have been examined before the court.

Only the reports from Central Forensic Science Laboratory (CFSL) are pending in the case to be put up before the court.

Jyoti, a Dalit girl of Bhunga village in Hoshiarpur, was found dead with her head smashed on a road in Sector 21, Panchkula, on November 22, 2012.

During the cross examination of Sangwan by defense counsel, he was asked about Tilak Raj's (who alle gedly drove a truck over Jyoti) mobile tower location, which showed that Tilak was at Chandimandir toll plaza at 1:38am, Nada Sahib between 1:48am and 1:54 am, and Ambala around 2am on the night of the murder. Sangwan replied that his investigations were based on disclosure statements and not on mobile tower locations.

On filing of the first chargesheet, he said according to him the investig ation was complete so he had filed the chargesheet. Whereas, in actual he was removed from the case and supplementary chargesheets were filed.
