Pune Warrior player Mithun Manhas feels that Indian Premier League (IPL) provides platform to the budding and talented cricketers.

"IPL is a good format of cricket as it gives opportunity to budding and upcoming cricketers to groom themselves," Manhas told UNI.

Manhas, a native of Jammu, was here in the town for a break after Sourav Ganguly led Pune Warriors failed to qualify in the game.

"IPL has not only given an identity to various new cricketers but also changed the mindset of the players," he said and added IPL is a flamboyant from of cricket.

He however, said that playing with former Indian cricket team skipper Sourav Ganguly was a great experience. "He is a great player and has a vision for cricket," Manhas said and added that he enjoyed every moment under his captainship besides learning a lot from Dada.

On Jammu and Kashmir, the all-rounder said, "Jammu and Kashmir has no dearth of talent."

"Certain loopholes are required to be checked and they are needed to be set in frame," he said.

The youngster however, in a message to the cricketers of the state said, "cricket should be played with dedication. One should play gentlemen's game with sincerity."
