Pakistan's Inter Services Intelligence (ISI) is trying to revive terrorism in Punjab, but police has been successful in pre-empting their "nefarious designs", state DGP Sumedh Singh Saini said on Thursday.

"Pakistan's ISI tried to revive terrorism in peaceful Punjab, but state police busted several terrorists modules," Saini said.
He said 42 hardcore militants have also been arrested in the past few years.
"Punjab Police foiled ISI's at least 11 major terror strikes in the past by cracking the modules before executing their operation," he said.

He said that Punjab police is "fully prepared" to foil "nefarious designs of ISI".

He said that during the last 32 months, ISI tried its best to disturb the hard-earned peace and communal harmony in the state.

Punjab Police went all the way to the United Kingdom,Thailand, Malaysia and various other parts of the country including Madhya Pardesh, Mumbai and Delhi to catch the perpetrators of terrorism, who were under the strict instructions and training from ISI, he said.
