The Chandigarh Janata Dal (United) on Thursday began its series of “pol khol” campaign against the UPA government.

The party held rallies at Burail, Colony No. 5 and Sector 56, to highlight the episode of bribe scam of former railway minister Pawan Kumar Bansal.

Addressing the small gatherings at these places, JD (U) leaders demanded the immediate arrest of Bansal and his interrogation by a special investigating team. They also demanded that interrogation of Bansal's family members.

JD (U) president Surinder Bhardwaj said that it was unfortunate that the Congress leaders indulged in grabbing money, looting the nation, and because of them half of the population of this country was living in unhygienic conditions, going without two-time meals, without shelter, no medication and lakhs of people die unnatural deaths every year.
