A 32-year-old junior engineer, Rakesh Lubana, posted with UT public works department (roads), Sector 29, and a resident of Kishangarh village, has been missing.

The police have recovered his abandoned car from his office at Sector-29 and have found a suicide note in it wherein he claimed to have committed suicide as he failed to get justice in the murder of his brother Suresh Kumar, a 28-year-old realtor, whose body was recovered from his burnt car in SAS Nagar on November 27, 2010.

The police claimed that Rakesh had a matrimonial dispute with his wife and she was staying separately in Baddi.

ASP (east) Parminder Singh said, “According to the watchman, Rakesh’s car remained parked in the office even after office hours. His wallet, mobile phone and a suicide note was later found in the car by the police.”

“We have not yet recovered the body. A message has been flashed in the nearby areas and a manhunt to trace him has already begun,” Singh said.

‘I am fed up with society’

A copy of the suicide note which is in HT’s possession reveals Rakesh was ending his life as he had failed to get justice from a top SAS Nagar police official, judicial system and other authorities even after having tried for the past one-and-a-half year. He also accused his wife Rajni, her mother Shamsher Kaur and her uncles Dharampal, Raj Kumar, Bal Kishan, Baldev Ram and Manraj, of being involved in his brother’s murder. He has also blamed a top SAS Nagar official to have helped them as no narco test of the suspects has been conducted so far.
