Joshi tells officers to resolve house tax disputes by Dec 15

Punjab local bodies minister Anil Joshi directed officers concerned on Monday that all pending complaints related to house tax must be resolved by December 15. Joshi was presiding over a review meeting of the department.

He said as per a decision of the committee concerned, if house tax was not paid before December 31, then no rebate would be given on the tax. The minister also instructed officers to further issue orders for all municipal corporations, municipal councils and nagar panchayats for necessary action.

The minister said the technical adviser of the Punjab Municipal Infrastructure Development Corporation (PMIDC), Maj Gen VK Bhatt, would monitor all ongoing projects of the department for timely compliance of projects. He also instructed sanitary inspectors to ensure fogging in respective areas to check the menace of dengue.
