Justice Bajanthri takes oath as HC additional judge

Justice Pavankumar B Bajanthri on Monday took oath as additional judge of the Punjab and Haryana high court. He has been transferred from the Karnataka high court.

Born on October 23, 1963, he was made additional judge of the Karnataka high court on January 2, 2015.

He was administered oath of office by acting chief justice, Punjab and Haryana high court, SJ Vazifdar. The swearing-in ceremony took place at the high court auditorium on Monday afternoon; various sitting and retired judges, members of the Punjab and Haryana high court Bar Association and other lawyers participated.

His transfer was cleared by the Supreme Court recently. With his joining, the strength of judges at the Punjab and Haryana high court has gone up to 55, including the acting chief justice. The sanctioned strength of judges at the HC is 85.
