Jyoti murder case

Documents relevant to investigations in the Jyoti murder case are missing from the charge sheet filed by police against Doon MLA Ram Kumar Chaudhary and nine others.

Most documents handed over to Chaudhary on Friday pertain to confessional statements of the accused in police custody while the relevant documents have been held back.

Reports on matching of hair samples seized from Jyoti's sweater at the time of her murder with those of Chaudhary and co-accused Dharampal, Paramjit alias Pumma and Gurmeet Singh have not been handed over to the Congress MLA from Himachal. Though the report was negative for Chaudhary's samples, it was not attached with the charge sheet. Even the post-mortem report of Jyoti is illegible.

As for the recordings of cell phone calls, it is not clear from the challan whether any matching of voice samples of Nidhi, wife of Chaudhary, or his uncle or brother Harbhajan Chaudhary has ever been done.

Hindustan Times has already reported that no fingerprints were found on articles seized from the crime spot as per its examination report.

As per the report of forensic science laboratory, Madhuban, Karnal, attached with the charge sheet, the handwritings on documents seized during police investigations did not fully match with specimen handwritings of Chaudhary and that more samples were required, both in English and Hindi.
