Paramjit alias Pumma, who is a relative of Doon MLA Ram Kumar Chaudhary, surrendered before a local court on Wednesday in the Jyoti murder case.

Jyoti, a Dalit girl from Hoshiarpur, was found dead on a road in Sector 21, Panchkula, on the morning of November 22, 2012, with her head smashed.

Chaudhary in his confession had told the police that Dharampal, Gurmeet, Tilak Raj and Paramjit alias Pumma were also involved in murdering Jyoti.

After Jyoti went unconscious due to injuries inflicted inside the car of Chaudhary on the night of November 21, 2012, Pumma called his employee Tilak Raj to bring a truck. The truck was brought and for money Tilak Raj drove the truck over Jyoti, who died on the spot.

While, Chaudhary, Dharampal, Gurmeet and Tilak Raj are in Ambala jail in the murder case, Pumma had been absconding for more than two months. The Haryana Police had also declared a prize of Rs 50,000 for information leading to his arrest.
