Haryana Lokhit Party (HLP) supremo and sitting MLA from Sirsa Gopal Kanda filed his nomination from Sirsa segment on Friday.

Kanda addressed a public gathering at Anaj Mandi Ground after which he, accompanied by a convoy, filed his nomination.

He said, “People’s love and response show that they have decided to accept the HLP as a political alternative in the ensuing assembly polls.”

“I am not here with promises, but with the right intentions. The HLP manifesto is our oath letter. After forming government, we will convert all announcements into implementations with immediate effect,” said Kanda.

According to his manifesto, he promised that Rs 51,000 would be given to every girl on her marriage and the family of every girl child would get Rs 5,100 every month till she reaches the age of 18 years.

He promised free electricity and water supply to the state’s religious places, and free laptops to all students from Class 8 up to graduation.

The manifesto also promised benefits for shopkeepers, women employees and members of Scheduled and Backward categories and police personnel.

At the meeting, Kanda took a dig at the CM and said that he had blocked water to Haryana and was asking for votes now. Badal should clear his agenda on Haryana’s water of Sutlej-Yamuna Link, he said.

He claimed to have given `60 crore to the Sirsa municipal committee, but no development had been carried out, he said.
