Intensifying the election campaign in Sirsa, Haryana Lokhit Party chief Gopal Kanda said on Sunday that if his party formed the government it would provide free electricity and water supply to "every religious place in the state".

Kanda was addressing a public meeting at Shahpur Begu village. Talking about the party symbol 'flying kite', Kanda said, "This symbol has been given to me by my Guru, and the kite will fly high in the sky of politics." To the youth, he said, "You will see dreams, and I will fulfill them."

Kanda also promised that the HLP would develop Shahpur Begu as a "model village": "This village has always been close to my heart and has always supported me. Now it is my turn to repay the debt."

At another public meeting at Ding village, Kanda urged people to stay away from people "who are into liquor trade". "Now they have become 'social activist'. You have to decide if you want your leader to be a liquor trader or a true social activist."
