Cong MLC Ravinder Sharma said this while paying the tributes to the martyrs of the Kargil war. He said the hypocrisy of the BJP was exposed when the Bofors gun, on which a campaign was run against the alleged payoffs in its procurement and efficiency, proved to be the most effective weapon.
Sharma said besides an intelligence failure, it was the major diplomatic defeat on the part of the then NDA government. He also expressed concern over the frequent ceasefire violations by Pakistan and the designs of China in Ladakh and the northeast.
