Kharar girl bags 18th rank in state

Three students from the rural areas of the district have made it to the merit list of 389 students prepared by the board from across the state.


Varinder Kaur, a student of Government Model Senior Secondary School, Cholta Khurd village, in Kharar has got the 18th position with 425/450 marks, with Commerce subjects.

Tanya, a student of Sant Baba Variyam Singh Memorial Public Senior Secondary School, Banur, scored the 23rd position in science stream and secured 420/450 marks.

Rajinder Kaur of Government Senior Secondary School, Buta Singh village, SAS Nagar, also secured the 23rd rank by securing same marks.

Not even a single student from the township managed to get into merit list Varinder Kaur, said, “I worked hard to secure the rank I have. In fact, I had to do household chores as well and yet managed to do well because of my hardwork. I did not take any tuition.” Kaur’s father Sarabjeet Singh is employee in private factory. She scored 92% in Class 10.
