Shamsher Kharkhara, the Lok Sabha candidate of Indian National Lok Dal (INLD) from Rohtak Lok Sabha segment, who got disillusioned from the party after a humiliating defeat, is said to be in touch with BJP senior leaders and may join the party soon.
Sources said that Kharkhara was weighing his options to join the saffron party before the assembly polls due in October.
Talking to HT, he said that it was premature to say anything at this juncture as he had officially not quit the INLD. He said that he had only boycotted the programmes of party (INLD) for a month and he would seek the consensus of the people before making a move.
Notably, he was also absent at a recent function at Rohtak where newly-elected Hisar and Sirsa MPs - Dushyant Chautala and Charanjit Singh Rori - were honoured.
Kharkhara joined the INLD three months ago with much fanfare in the presence of INLD senior leader Abhay Chautala.
