Deputy commissioner (DC) Tejinder Pal Singh Sidhu said 96,458 farads and 3,65,754 attested copies have been issued through Farad Kendras.

Sidhu said, “It takes hardly 10 to 15 minutes to get a land record through these Farad Kendras. With a nominal fee of `20 per page, one can easily get the attested copy of land record.”

“There are five Farad Kendras — at DC office, SAS Nagar; Tehsil Complex, Kharar; Tehsil Complex, Dera Bassi; Sub-Tehsil Majri; and Sub-Tehsil, Banur; which are working satisfactorily,” he added.

He said 25,946 farads and 91,413 attested copies of land records had been issued through the Farad Kendra at DC Office in SAS Nagar.

The Farad Kendra at Kharar had issued 25,136 farads and 8,924 pages of attested land record copies. The kendra at Dera Bassi had issued 18,541 farads and 74,659 pages of attested land record copies.

Sidhu said, “There are 464 villages falling in the jurisdiction of SAS Nagar district, of which attested copies of land records are being provided on the spot for 414 villages and land records for these villages have been computerised and available online.”

He said for the remaining 50 urban villages, the land record would be computerised very soon.
