The lobbying for Congress ticket has begun in Nahan constituency. Supporters of Congress leader Kanwar Ajay Bhadur Singh, a loyalist of Virbhadra Singh, have opened a front against sitting MLA Kush Parmar, son of state founder Dr YS Parmar.

In a well-attended meeting called on Sunday, Congress workers demanded party ticket for Kanwar Ajay Bhadur Singh. Muslim leaders Taj Mohammed and Nasir Rawat said that the ticket should be given to Ajay Bhadur Singh, otherwise they would be forced to support any political party.

In the constituency, there are nine ticket aspirants of Congress, out of which five ticket aspirants - Taj Mohammed, state president of Muslim welfare committee Naseem Mohammed Didan, Zilla parishad member Nasir Rawat, Mohhamed Iqbal and vice-chairperson of municipal council Yogesh Gupta -have extended support to former MLA Ajay Bhadur Singh.

Even district NSUI chief OP Thakur and newly elected president of SCA of Nahan College Amit Sharma have also pleaded for the party ticket for the Virbhadra Singh loyalist.
